Horsforth Transport Survey

In  May – June  2023 a Transport Survey was carried out by volunteers at Horsforth Climate Action.

The questionnaire was available online and physical copies were distributed in various locations around Horsforth, including the library, and local shops and cafes. Posters with a QR code for people to scan were also placed in various community locations and shop windows.

The Questionnaire was promoted on the Town Council’s Facebook page and also promoted on the various social media accounts run by Horsforth Climate action. They were also handed out and promoted at various face to face events including the Horsforth Gala, Horsforth Farmer’s Market and Horsforth Walk of Art.

A total of 155 responses were received, a modest response, however the content included a high level of qualitative data which has been extremely valuable in enabling us to hear people’s voices and to evaluate the results and draw out the common themes.

The results of the questionnaire were collated and a full report was created. The report was then sent to Horsforth Town Council, The then MP for Horsforth (Pudsey), Leeds City Council, The West Yorkshire Mayor and local public transport providers, First Bus, Northern Rail and Transdev.

You can see the results of the Survey in the report below.

Following on from the Survey, a Street Audit of three main shopping streest in Horsforth – Town Street, New Road Side and Station Road was also completed in June / July 2024. You can find out more about this audit and the results in our Street Audit blog post
