At Horsforth Climate Action we have run a few bike fixes alongside various events we’ve held.
The aim of a bike fix is to offer quick fixes to people’s bikes at no, or at a low – Pay As You Feel cost.
It doesn’t include a full service, but offers a bike health check and simple repairs to help get your bike back on the road or repair a simple issue such as slipping gears or brake issues.
We held our first bike fix back in June 2024 as part of our Kidical Mass Bike Ride and helped people get their bikes back on the road ready for the ride. We also ran one at Horsforth Farmers’ Market ahead of Walk to School Week earlier this year.
At our Green Festival we plan to offer another Bike Fix to help people get their bikes road worthy again by fixing simple issues, carrying out quick bike health checks or simply offering advice. All at no or limited cost.
If you or your family have bikes that are in need of a little bit of TLC why not come down to the festival on Sunday 21st September at Horsforth Hall Park and visit our Bike Fix stand run by Kovrlija and Co?
You will also be able to get advice on keeping your bike secure, and bike security marking from West Yorkshire Police.
